centos5にインストールするには
(1) ttf版をDLして
(2) cpする

[root@cent5-19 TrueType]# pwd 
/usr/share/fonts/japanese/TrueType
[root@cent5-19 TrueType]# ls -l | grep GD-HighwayGothicJA-TTF094b.ttf

(3)/etc/X11/fs/configの編集
catalogue = のお尻に上のパスを追加する

  /usr/share/fonts/japanese/TrueType,

(4) /etc/init.d/xfs restart
